Why choose a fixed-rate home loan for an investment property?

A fixed-rate home loan may suit investors who want certainty and a structured approach to managing their investment.

Estimating your repayments

Understanding your repayments is an important step when considering an investment loan.

Home loan calculators can help you estimate:

    • Your fixed repayment amount
    • The impact of allowed extra repayments
    • How your loan may change after the fixed period

Results are indicative only and do not constitute an offer or approval.

Let's help you crunch the numbers

Managing your investment loan alongside everyday banking

An investment fixed home loan offers consistency in your repayments while helping you manage your broader financial commitments.

Depending on your loan terms, you may be able to:

  • Set a repayment schedule that aligns with your income and investment strategy
  • Manage repayments easily through online banking
  • Review your loan options at the end of your fixed period

Keep in mind, some features commonly available with variable investment loans (such as unlimited extra repayments, redraw or offset accounts) may be limited or unavailable during the fixed term.

Extra repayments and redraw

Making additional repayments on a MoveBank fixed investment home loan can help reduce your loan balance and the total interest payable over time, potentially improving the overall return on your investment.

For our fixed home loans, all loan holders can make extra repayments during the fixed period; however, these repayments are capped at $10,000 per year in accordance with your loan terms and conditions.

A redraw facility (if available) allows you to access any additional repayments you’ve made above your minimum required repayment, up to the applicable cap. This can provide flexibility if you need to access funds for your investment or other expenses.

Availability, limits and conditions apply and are subject to your MoveBank loan agreement.
